Harvey Weinstein: Another Name on the Hollywood Walk of Shame

Another disgusting Hollywood elitist can’t keep his hands to himself or even his pants on. Harvey Weinstein, co-chairman of the massive film studio The Weinstein Company and co-founder of Miramax, has been fired from his company after multiple allegations of sexual assault and sexual harassment have surfaced.

Two damning pieces from The New York Times and The New Yorker unveiled a long history of Weinstein’s mistreatment of women. The New York Times detailed Weinstein’s sexual harassment of actress Ashley Judd and his history of paying off his victims for decades.

The New Yorker then reported that thirteen women claimed to have been sexually harassed or assaulted by Weinstein.  Four said that Weinstein exposed himself or masturbated in front of them. Additionally, The New Yorker released publicly unheard audio recordings from a New York City Police Department sting operation in 2015 in which Weinstein admitted to groping a model.

What’s more disturbing is that Weinstein’s sexual harassment / assault was no secret in Hollywood. Many interviewed inside and outside his company said that witnessed or had knowledge of Weinstein’s behavior. Those that kept quiet were worried that Weinstein would ruin their lives forever.

The allegations haven’t slowed down. Just recently, Angelina Jolie, Gwyneth Paltrow and other huge Hollywood stars have come forth claiming Weinstein sexually harassed them as well. Weinstein’s wife recently announced that she’s leaving him.

There was a reason why people were so scared of the perverted Cosmopolitan. Weinstein’s power and reach went far beyond Hollywood. Weinstein’s power and reach went far beyond Hollywood. A hardcore Democrat, Weinstein supported and donated to Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton’s campaign. He also donated to Bill Clinton’s law firm, the DNC, Elizabeth Warren, Al Franken, Cory Booker, Chuck Schumer, Patrick Leahy, Martin Heinrich, and Richard Blumenthal. All of them have pledged to donate any donations Weinstein gave them. He can be seen rubing shoulders with them at upscale parties and has been accused of using his influence over the national cultural conscious to push the leftwing social and political agenda on the population.

After five days of silence since the news of the allegations, Clinton has finally condemned Weinstein’s behavior, but she didn’t initially say what she would do with his roughly $35,000 in donations to her campaigns. Finally, six days after the allegations surfaced, Clinton announced that she’s be donating the money.

Other prominent Democrats that Weinstein has supported have condemned his support. Al Franken donated Weinstein’s contributions to the Minnesota Indian Women’s Resources Center.

Not everyone is turning their backs on the alleged pervert however. Lindsey Lohan came out and defended Weinstein in an Instagram video.  She sympathized with Weinstein, saying she felt “really bad for him” and that his wife should stand with him through the scandal. She later deleted the video and released a statement urging the accusers take their allegations to the police.

With all that said, I can’t reiterate enough that Weinstein’s behavior was an open secret in Hollywood. So many people have come forth saying they’ve known about it for years, and they sat around and did nothing. Of course, Weinstein is a rich and powerful man which could easily scare people from speaking out, but isn’t it odd that nobody exposed him sooner? Even the NYPD sting operation was done back in 2015.  Why did it take two years to find out about this?

Why did Hillary Clinton and many Democrats wait so long to disavow Harvey Weinstein? I’m glad that they eventually did, but why did it take so long? Saturday Night Live, who are quick to pounce on Trump for the slightest error, didn’t make a single joke about Weinstein last Sunday.

Of course, all of this talk fuels the idea that many in Hollywood and the entertainment industry are covering-up massive sexual harassment / assault and pedophile rings. While I don’t believe everyone in Hollywood is a rapist or a pedophile, I guarantee that there are more than we think. Like Harvey Weinstein, there’s probably lots of open secrets about pedophilia and sexual assault that are getting covered up.

Just look at all the jokes made about Harvey Weinstein’s sexual allegations.  In a 2012 episode of 30 Rock, Tina Fey joked about turning down “intercourse with Harvey Weinstein on no less than three occasions out of five.”  At the 2013 Oscars, Seth McFarlane joked that the nominees for Best Supporting Actress “no longer have to pretend to be attracted to Harvey Weinstein.” It’s almost as if Weinstein’s behavior was a big open secret.

Let us not forget the allegation that Roman Polanski raped a thirteen-year-old girl. Despite pleading guilty to the charges, Polanski was defended by none other than… Harvey Weinstein. Just a coincidence, isn’t it?

Celebrities like Joan Collins, Shirley Temple, Marilyn Monroe, Judy Garland, and Charlize Theron, to name a few, have all claimed to experience uncomfortable sexual advances, sexual harassment, or sexual assault in Hollywood. Additionally, sexual harassment allegations have brought down titans such as Roger Ailes, Bill O’Reilly, and Bill Cosby. These incidents span decades, and yet no one spoke-up till these men were ready to retire.

Sadly, even when people are eventually brave enough to speak up, the press can cover up the story. Ronan Fallow first went to NBC with the big expose of Harvey Weinstein after interviewing a woman who claimed she was raped by Weinstein. NBC spiked the story making it dead-on-arrival. Fallow took the story to The New Yorker, and they published it immediately, bringing us to where we are today.

What is with celebrities and sexual assault? It seems like every month a big-name celebrity is losing their throne in show business to sexual harassment allegations. It’s a disturbing and bizarre trend that doesn’t seem to be changing for the better. Sick, elitist pigs in Hollywood are using power and fear to destroy women physically and emotionally all for their pleasure. And then, the other studio big shots don’t have the balls to report these monster, letting more women get raped and assaulted. These pigs need to be rooted out and thrown in jail, and we must provide women a safe way to blow the whistle.

All of this is very strange, bizarre, sick, and depressing. Celebrities that we look up to as children turn out to be sexual predators when we’re adults. These people are rich, famous, and successful. They’re living the American Dream. Why are they pedophiles? Why are they rapists?

This madness needs to stop. The lives of women and children are being destroyed everyday by scum like Harvey Weinstein. New organizations need to investigate Hollywood and bring these predators to justice. But, sadly, after NBC spiked the original story, I have little faith in the mainstream media. We need people like James O’Keefe and his team to go undercover and catch these filth on camera for the world to see. We need to put an end to this disturbing trend once and for all.
